Description
A few years ago I was in Rome, and of course many of the photos I came back with were of the multitude of architectural marvels that litter the city, the splendours of the Vatican, the marble, the ancient ruins of the Forum and Capitol.
But I also came back with several photos of lovely textures in wood and stone - and in water, as in this photo of the Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi on the busy Piazza Navona. Shimmering in the strong Italian sun, rippling from being stirred by passers-by, people sitting on its edge and dangling their feet in the water, or from the people throwing coins into it for good luck as were it a wishing well.
Some of those coins can be seen, distorted under the rippling surface.
