This image is one in an original series of mural-sized (15,000 x 15,000 pixels) procedurally created eggs with fractal textures and colouring made in fascinating fractal software XenoDream.
I chose eggs for this series of textures as I think it's a simple yet dynamic shape that shows off patterns and figuring particularly well. I also made a standard shape and size so that the pictures look great together.
Great for anyone loving eggs, dragons, chickens, for Easter, or for any time of year when the textured shape of an egg still makes a fascinating piece of art.
Eggs are also an enduring metaphor of fruitfulness, prosperity and fertility, making them suitable as a symbol for a wedding present.
Born in Norway in 1974, and discovering I knew how to paint in 1999, my work spans a wide variety of styles and media, all the way from traditional oils, pencil drawings and encaustics to digital paintings, 3D renderings and computer generated imagery, with styles ranging from the completely abstract to the sensually figurative.
