Artist's Description
I don't often go to museums with a camera, or indeed to museums where cameras are allowed, but sometimes I do, and occasionally I end up with a photo of a piece I like that is a of a decent enough quality that it is suitable at least for smaller prints.
One of my favourite Henri Rousseau paintings, as well as one of his last, is The Dream from 1910, in his unmistakable and colourful style. In many ways it is a precursor to the later surrealist movement that hadn't started yet when this was painted.
About Hakon Soreide
Born in Norway in 1974, and discovering I knew how to paint in 1999, my work spans a wide variety of styles and media, all the way from traditional oils, pencil drawings and encaustics to digital paintings, 3D renderings and computer generated imagery, with styles ranging from the completely abstract to the sensually figurative.
