Artist's Description
There are few things more fascinating to photograph than those fleetingly ephemeral subjects that only exist in a short moment because humankind is in a constant battle against the forces of nature: rust, decay and weathering.
This is one of my favourite photos of such a subject, a wall painted blue that looks like it has been left for years in the sun, the paint even peeling off in large flakes that still cling on to the wooden surface.
I know the building has since been torn down, its artistic weathering perhaps only captured in this single photograph.
About Hakon Soreide
Born in Norway in 1974, and discovering I knew how to paint in 1999, my work spans a wide variety of styles and media, all the way from traditional oils, pencil drawings and encaustics to digital paintings, 3D renderings and computer generated imagery, with styles ranging from the completely abstract to the sensually figurative.
